Year One: Building the Engine
With funding from Maricopa County through the American Rescue Plan, Threshold went from dream to reality in the fall of 2021. Early activities in the development of Threshold included recruiting and building a rock star team, working with our friends at Javelina to create the new brand identity and messaging, developing processes and procedures for implementation, stakeholder training, and convening an advisory council in partnership with the Arizona Multihousing Association. We soft-launched much of our work in these early months, culminating in our incredible launch event on June 1, 2022, at the Arizona Multihousing Association offices in downtown Phoenix.
Early Success and Momentum
The official launch event was extremely successful with over 50 attendees consisting of public figures, colleagues, and current and future partners. Our property management partners happily volunteered for interviews with the press and the launch was covered in media outlets for weeks afterward. Fifteen new property owners reached out during the month of June to inquire about Threshold solely from the launch media coverage. The team has been actively consulting with inquiries about the program and how to join. In June, the Threshold Engagement Team assisted in adding 70 new units for participants and 28 new properties.
